Unconventional Ways To Relieve Stress

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to pop on here to make a quick post about some unconventional ways I relax. We all get a bit stressed and sometimes it’s good to get a fresh perspective on how to achieve a state of calm.

I just want to point out that if these don’t work for you I encourage you to keep exploring new possibilities. Also If you have some unconventional ideas yourself please share in the comments.

Firstly(is that a real word) I find watching cake and cookie decorating videos soooooo soothing. I don’t know there is something about the way that smooth frosting is piped along the confection. The repetitive motions, the creativity, and the movements always help me center myself. Go to youtube and type in cake decorating compilation . . . You’re welcome 🙂

Secondly, playing the sims. not exactly the actual game(which can be stressful). The whole creating sims and the houses they live in is extremely restful. There are no time limits, scoring, judgments. You can let your creativity run loose. The sandbox nature of this game is appealing.

Lastly, have a conversation with a tree. If you can not find a tree that is willing to talk to you then a bush or mushroom will do. Okay I know, I did say these would be unconventional 🙂 Tell it your problems, ask for advice, ask it about its day. This will help you release tension and it will help you express worry and stress to a very safe listener. Asking the tree about its day can help you with inner child work and also take you out of your headspace with some fun imagination and creativity.

I hope you find this post helpful in your pursuit of a more relaxing live. Please don’t hesitate to comment any unique ideas you have.
